8th Place Finish for Bentley in Vulcan Invitational

GREENSBURG, Pa. – On a rainy and windy day in western Pennsylvania, the Bentley University men's golf team finished eighth in a field of 13 teams during the California University (Pa.) Vulcan Invitational, which concluded Monday at the Totteridge Golf Course.

Bentley, after an opening round 307, struggled to a 320 for a two-day total of 627. The Falcons finished seven strokes out of the top five and trailed team champion University of Charleston by 19 strokes.

The Falcons were led by junior Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS), who tied for 15th with a 72-82-154. Following the first 18, which finished early Monday, he was alone in fourth place.

Bentley's number two player was senior co-captain Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS). He tied for 27th with a 76-81-157.

Jake Yarmolowitz of St. Thomas Aquinas earned medalist honors by four strokes with a 69-76-145. A total of 76 golfers took part in the tournament.

Bentley will close out the fall portion of the schedule Sunday and Monday with the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Division II Championships at the Captains Golf Course on Cape Cod.
