Bentley Finishes Day 1 of Saint Rose Fall Shootout in 3rd Place

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – The Bentley University Falcons, coming off a second-place finish in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, reached the midpoint of the Saint Rose Fall Shootout in third place. Playing at the Pinehaven Country Club on Friday, the Falcons turned in a team score of 306.

Bentley trails tournament-leading Franklin Pierce University by eight strokes and second-place Roberts Wesleyan by two. A total of 11 teams are competing in the two-day event that will resume Saturday.

The Falcons were led by junior Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS), who shot a two-over 74 and is tied for fourth, one stroke off the pace. At the top of the leaderboard are Roberts Wesleyan's Brandon Grzywacz, Franklin Pierce's Nathan Patterson and Dominican's Hunter Westcott.

Bentley's next three golfers were seniors Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS) and Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS), along with sophomore Liam Dwyer (Reading, Mass./Reading HS). Kulikowski's 76 has him in a tie for 16th while the other two will begin Saturday tied for 21st after a 78. A total of 61 players are participating.
