KEENE, N.H. – With three golfers finishing in the top four, including tournament medalist Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy), the Bentley University golf team captured the Franklin Pierce Division II Fall Invitational Monday by nine strokes over runner-up Southern New Hampshire University.

In brisk temperatures, Bentley improved on its opening round 299 by three strokes to record a winning score of 595 at the Bretwood Golf Club. SNHU, which was a stroke back of the Falcons entering the day, followed with a 605 and Assumption College took third with a 621. A total of 12 teams participated.

Oliver, who set a program record with his fourth career tournament victory, fired a one-under 71 during the second 18 to finish with a one-over 145, winning by two strokes over Southern New Hampshire's Jake Nutter.

Also placing in the top four for Bentley were sophomore Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./ Slinger HS) and freshman Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS). Co-leaders after day one, Meyers was third (73-76-149) and Kulikowski fourth (73-77-150).

Bentley's other two golfers, sophomore Jimmy Brunone (Plymouth, Mass./Tabor Academy) and freshman Logan French (Tolland, Conn./East Catholic HS), tied for 12th with a 155 36-hole score. French fired a second-round 73 and Brunone finished with a 76.

Bentley will finish the fall season with the New England Championships in Brewster Oct. 25-26.
