Third-Place Finish by McQueen Helps Bentley Place Fourth in NE-10 Championships

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – Bentley University senior co-captain Dan McQueen (Topsfield, Mass./ Masconomet Reg. HS) finished third in the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Golf Championships to earn first-team All-Northeast-10 honors. The two-day tournament concluded Monday at the En Joie Golf Course.

As a team, Bentley saw its bid to repeat as champion denied, with the Falcons placing fourth of 11 with a score of 619. Adelphi University captured the title for the third time in four years, finishing ten strokes in front of runner-up UMass-Lowell with a 602. Le Moyne College followed in third, two strokes better than the Falcons.

McQueen, one of three tied for first at the start of day two, finished four strokes off the winning pace set by Adelphi freshman Ryan Snouffer, who earned medalist honors with a one-under 143 following a second-round 70. Snouffer bested teammate and 2011 conference champion Louis Kelly by two strokes to claim individual honors. McQueen shot a second-round 74 after opening with a 73.

The other two Bentley players to finish in the top 20 were senior co-captain Matt Michel (Danvers, Mass./Danvers HS) and junior Harry Kirkpatrick (Lancaster, Mass./Nashoba Reg. HS). Michel had a second-round 80 and placed 14th with a 155, and Kirkpatrick tied for 15th following back-to-back 78s.
