RIVERHEAD, N.Y. – Bentley University senior co-captain Matt Michel (Danvers, Mass./Danvers HS) shot a second-round 77 Saturday at the par-71 Long Island National Golf Club and finished the two-day Dowling September Shootout tied for sixth place in a field of 88.

Michel, who had a 72 in the opening round, had a 36-hole score of 149. That put him six strokes back of the medalist, Ryan Snouffer of Adelphi University.

As a team, Bentley was 13^th of 17 with a score of 645 with the Falcons' second-day 323 one stroke higher than their Friday score.

Dowling College captured the team title by virtue of a better fifth-man score than Adelphi. Both teams had a score of 612 overall, and Post University was third with a 618.

The only other Bentley player in the top 50 was senior Dan McQueen (Topsfield, Mass./ Masconomet Reg. HS), who tied for 44th with a 77-84-161.

Next Sunday and Monday (Sept. 30, Oct. 1), Bentley will be out in Endicott, N.Y. looking to defend its Northeast-10 Conference Championship.
