COLCHESTER, Vt. – Sophomore guard Mason Webb (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness HS) missed only one shot during a 24-point night and senior forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/ Williston Northampton School) added a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double as Bentley University extended its winning streak to six with a 67-51 win over St. Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball at the Ross Sports Center Wednesday night.

Bentley, ranked 17th and 18th in this week's Division II polls, improved to 13-2 overall and remained atop the NE10 Northeast Division with a 5-1 conference record. St. Michael's, limited to their lowest scoring output of the season, remained without a win in the NE10 (0-6) and fell to 3-10 overall.

Hitting six of their first seven shots, Bentley started fast, opening a 16-8 lead before the game was four-and-a-half minutes old. Included were the first two of Webb's six three-balls and six points from Hudson.

After the Purple Knights came back to tie the game at 19, Bentley used an 11-2 spurt to go in front for good, 30-21 with 2:47 left. Webb was a factor in that run as well with a three from the right wing and a foul-line jumper.

Early in the second half, Hudson scored four points and Webb hit a straightaway three during a 13-2 spurt that made it a 51-33 game with 13:30 to play.

St. Michael's cut the lead nearly in half with eight unanswered but Hudson scored six during an 8-2 run that returned the difference to 16.

Webb's 24-point performance saw him knock down a career-high six of seven three-pointers and finish eight of nine overall.  Hudson made half of his 14 shots while recording his fifth double-double and also had two assists, two steals and a block.

Bentley also received eight points from junior forward Pete Blust (Hinsdale,Ill./Hinsdale Central HS) and ten rebounds and seven points from junior guard Jordan Mello-Klein (Sharon, Mass./Thayer Academy). In all, 64 of the Falcons' 67 points came from coach Jay Lawson's starting unit.

St. Michael's was led by freshman forward Kasai Brown (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and senior guard Jordan Guzman (Staten Island, N.Y.), with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Bentley shot 49 percent overall and made half of its three-pointers, but was hurt by 20 turnovers, nine of those coming in the first ten minutes. The Falcons dominated the boards, 41-25, and finished with a 12-4 advantage in second-chance points.

St. Michael's show only .327 overall, the second lowest of the season by a Falcon opponent, and made 7 of 21 from beyond the arc.

Next up for the Falcons is a Saturday afternoon meeting at the Dana Center against Southern Connecticut State (3:30 pm.
