WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Windward School) scored 23 points and sophomore guard Seth Stankiewicz (Reading, Pa./Hill School) came off the bench for 19 points as Bentley University shot past Franklin Pierce University, 105-69, in Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball Wednesday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley's fourth lop-sided win of the season boosted the Falcons to 5-1 overall and kept coach Jay Lawson's team perfect in NE10 action at 3-0. Franklin Pierce dropped to 3-3 overall, including 1-3 conference.

Following two ties in the opening minute, Bentley used a 7-0 run to take a lead it never gave back. That run including a pair of Richmond jumpers and a corner three from freshman guard Colton Lawrence (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO HS), who made his first collegiate start.

Later in the first half, Richmond and Stankiewicz scored the first 11 points during a 22-9 burst that produced a 39-24 advantage with eight minutes still to play on the first-half clock.

Bentley finished the opening 20 minutes with a 14-2 spurt, including five apiece by Richmond and Stankiewicz, to complete an impressive offensive half of basketball. The Falcons were up 62-36 after shooting 56.5 percent, drilling nine of 15 three-pointers and not committing a single turnover. At the break, Richmond led the way with 18 points and Stankiewicz had 14 without missing a shot.

The second-half point differential ranged from 23 to the final 36 points with Bentley never challenged.

Richmond, who was on the bench for good with more than seven minutes still to play, made 10 of 19 shots and connected on three of six from distance. He also provided four rebounds and four assists.

Stankiewicz achieved his 19 in 20 minutes of action. He made eight of ten overall, including three of five triples.

Bentley also received double-figures from junior forward Zach Gilpin (Hampden, Maine/ Hampden Academy), senior forward Brandon Wheeler (Stamford, Conn./Trinity Catholic HS) and freshman guard Jordan Mello-Klein (Sharon/Thayer Academy). Gilpin scored 12, Wheeler provided an 11-point, 12 rebound double-double and Mello-Klein finished with 10 points.

Sophomore guard Falu Seck (Washington, D.C.) led Franklin Pierce with 12 points.

For the game, Bentley shot 53 percent overall and 47 percent from three, knocking down 15 from distance. The Falcons held the Ravens to 37 percent shooting, enjoyed a 17-4 advantage in points off turns and were a plus-11 on the boards, 47-36.

 Next up for Bentley is a Saturday matinee at St. Michael's (3:30 pm).
