Westrol Selected for Northeast-10 Hall of Fame

Former Bentley University men’s basketball great Jason Westrol, the NABC Division II National Player of the Year in 2010, is among five former student-athletes and three national championship teams who comprise the 2015 class of inductees into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame.

The 2014-15 Bentley Falcons posted the program’s 19th winning season in the last 20 years, finishing at 15-12 overall with Tyler McFarland and Keegan Hyland two of the Northeast-10's top five scorers.
Hoffman & 6 Former Student-Athletes Selected for Bentley Athletic Hall of Fame

Longtime Bentley University women’s volleyball coach Sandy Hoffman, five former All-Americas and one of the premier defensemen in the formative days of the university’s Division I hockey program have been selected for the Bentley University Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held in the Lacava Center Executive Dining Room on September 26.
Hill & Lirange Named Bentley’s Outstanding Senior Athletes; Hyland Recipient of Powers Award

Football’s Jeff Hill (Mansfield/Mansfield HS) and field hockey’s Gina Lirange (Auburn/Auburn HS), both of whom received All-America recognition in their respective sports, were named the Outstanding Senior Athletes at Bentley University Monday night during a Division of Student Affairs awards program in the Dana Center’s Carleton Room. In addition, men’s basketball standout Keegan Hyland (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) was presented with the Edward J. Powers Scholar Athlete Award

Bentley University’s 2014-15 season came to a stunning halt Tuesday evening when junior guard Tyler Iacuone (Mahopac, N.Y.) drained a three-pointer with 0.6 seconds left to cap a turnover-fueled game-ending 9-0 run and give Franklin Pierce University an 85-84 victory in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball at the FPU Fieldhouse.

With the regular season down to its final two games, the Bentley University men’s basketball owns a one-game lead over Franklin Pierce University in the battle for the fifth and final postseason bid out of the Northeast-10 Conference’s Northeast Division. Those two teams will meet in Tuesday’s finale, but prior to that, Bentley will look to strengthen its hold on fifth, and perhaps clinch, when it travels to Easton to take on Stonehill College Saturday at 7 pm.
