Junior forward Tim Beinert (Bellerose Village, N.J.) and junior guard Ryan Rozsnaki (Montreal, Quebec) each posted double-doubles and Assumption College’s other three starters all scored in doubles as the ninth-seeded Greyhounds topped number eight Bentley University, 78-65, in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Basketball Playoffs Friday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley University senior guard Sam Leclerc (Fayette, Maine/Winthrop HS) has been selected for the 2012 All Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball first team by the conference’s head coaches. Also recognized, with selection to the All-Rookie Team, was Falcon freshman forward Andrew Shaw (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy).

Senior Dipanjot Singh (Evanston, Ill.), a transfer from Illinois-Chicago, erupted for 27 points, including 15 in the first half to keep his team close, as UMass-Lowell overcame a five-point halftime deficit to defeat visiting Bentley University, 85-76, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Tuesday night at Costello Gym. It was the regular season finale for both clubs.

Senior guard Andre Tongo (Acton) and junior guard Brian Hamor (Guilderland, N.Y.) combined for 32 points, with each connecting three times beyond the three-point line, as Stonehill College shot down Bentley University, 81-55, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center. It was the final home game of the regular season for the Falcons.
