No. 10 Pace Halts Bentley Win Streak at 4, 2-0

WALTHAM, Mass. – Pace University, ranked number ten in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II coaches poll, scored once in each half to halt Bentley University's winning streak at four, 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon at Bentley.

Sophomore Kamryn Gianfrancesco (Greenlawn, N.Y.) staked the Setters to the lead in the 12th minute, knocking in a rebound following a save by Bentley senior Jana Mones (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS).

It remained 1-0 until just under 20 minutes remaining. Senior Rebecca Kauffman (Mount Joy, Pa.) provided the insurance goal following a scramble in front of the net.

Freshman Grace Henderson (South Australia) made three saves en route to her third shutout of the season. Mones had the same number for Bentley, which was outshot 11-7 and limited to four penalty corners.

Bentley slipped to 4-2 overall and 2-1 NE10 while Pace pushed its record to 6-1 (2-0 NE10).

Bentley's next game is next Saturday at nationally-ranked Stonehill (1 pm).
