WORCESTER, Mass. -- Senior Andrea Koslowski (Warren) scored on a penalty stroke in the eighth minute and Assumption College went on to record a 2-0 win over Bentley University in college field hockey action Wednesday afternoon at AC's Multi-Purpose Stadium.
Bentley completed the non-conference portion of its schedule at 2-4 after being blanked for the fourth time this season. Assumption squared its record at 2-2 with the victory.
Following Koskowski's goal, it remained 1-0 for the next 57 minutes. The Greyhounds picked up an insurance goal with 5:43 left when junior forward Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn.) sent a ball into the cage from just inside the circle, following a penalty corner.
Bentley senior Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt./Burlington HS) made seven first-half saves for the Falcons but saw her shutout streak halted at 120 minutes. Sophomore Jana Mones (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) played the second half and made two stops.
Junior Bridget Boyle (Stow) had a relatively easy game in goal for Assumption as she had two saves in the shutout.
Assumption dominated play in the first half (14 shots, 6 penalty corners) with all four of Bentley's shots and both its penalty corners coming after intermission.
Bentley will complete a run of five straight on the road when it plays at Southern New Hampshire in its Northeast-10 opener on Saturday.
