WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior quarterback Mack Lowrie (Foxborough/Roxbury Latin School) threw for four touchdowns and ran for another as Bentley University scored double figures in every quarter en route to a 50-14 win over Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference football Friday night in the Falcons' home opener.

Lowrie staked the Falcons (1-1 overall, 1-0 NE10) to a 14-0 lead before the game was six minutes old. His 23-yard TD pass to freshman wide receiver Austin Ryan (Foxborough/Foxborough HS) capped a three-play, 39-yard drive and gave Bentley a 7-0 lead with 12:06 on the first-quarter clock. Ryan, in just his second collegiate game, caught five balls for 152 yards, two TDs and 199 all-purpose yards.

Three plays after a fumble recovery by sophomore linebacker Andrew Carmichael (Wayland/Wayland HS), Lowrie broke through the line and went 50 yards for the Falcons' second touchdown of the night.

The score stood at 26-7 at the half after the Falcons scored in three different fashions in the second quarter. Sophomore Grant Buchanan (Holliston/Holliston HS) kicked a 22-yard field goal, Lowrie and junior Drew Mahoney (West Suffield, Conn./Suffield Academy) teamed up on a four-yard TD pass, and the Falcons added a safety on a blocked punt by senior linebacker Joey Piatnik (Bethel, Conn./ Bethel HS).

The Falcons put up ten unanswered in the third  as Buchanan connected on his second field goal of the game (22 yards) and Mahoney caught his second TD pass of the night, this one on a screen for seven yards.

Bentley scored two more TDs in the fourth, a 35-yard strike from Lowrie to Ryan and a 14-yard run from tailback Andrew Brazicki (Franklin Park, N.J./Bishop Ahr HS). For the freshman, it was his second TD of the season.

Both touchdowns for Saint Anselm (0-2, 0-1) were scored by junior QB Eric Fairweather (Londonderry, N.H.). He ran it in from the two in the second quarter and had a 13-yard scoring run in the fourth. He finished the contest with 55 rushing yards on 17 carries and 13 completions in 23 attempts for 78 yards.

Bentley, which scored 50 points for the first time in Bill Kavanaugh's four years as head coach,  outgained the visitors 490-201 overall, 288-78 through the air and 202-123 on the ground while scoring on five of six red-zone trips.

Mahoney led the Falcons in receptions with seven, good for 95 yards and the two TDs. Brazicki was also effective, gaining 58 yards on 11 carries.

Carmichael led Bentley in tackles with nine and the Falcons also received a fumble recovery from senior defensive lineman Andrew Crane (Amherst, N.H./Lawrence Academy).
