WINTER PARK, Fla. – Right-handers Llewellyn Jensen (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little HS) and Greg Johnson (North Reading/North Reading HS) each allowed three hits as Bentley University blanked Concordia College (N.Y.) in non-conference college baseball Tuesday afternoon at Rollins College's Alfond Stadium.

Coming on the heels of Monday's 18-0 win over Nyack, it marked the first time since late in the 2012 season that Bentley pitchers threw back-to-back shutouts.

The Falcons also excelled at the plate with the team's 14 hits including three by senior second baseman Mike Samko (Arlington, Mass./BB&N) and two by four other hitters. Sophomore center fielder Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) extended his hitting streak to eight with two more hits and sophomore left fielder Luke Figueira (Taunton, Mass./Taunton HS) hit his second career home run.

Bentley, 3-6, got on the scoreboard with two runs in the bottom of the first. Troiani had an RBI single down the left right line, bringing in Samko from second, and junior right fielder Brandon Grover (Rocky Hill, Conn./Rocky Hill HS) followed with an RBI single up the middle, sophomore first baseman Ryan Berardino (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Reg. HS) scoring on the play.

Samko's RBI double to left in the fourth made it a 3-0 game and Figueira's home run to lead off the sixth put the Falcons up four.

In the seventh, Troiani delivered an RBI single to left and Samko stole home. Bentley also scored two in the eighth, on infield RBI single by sophomore shortstop Chris Hopkins (Malden, Mass./Malden Catholic HS) and another on an error.

Troiani, Grover, Figueira and junior DH Austin Farry (Watertown, Mass./Watertown HS), batting consecutively in the fourth through seventh spots in Bob DeFelice's lineup, all had two hits.

Jensen, a junior, walked five and struck out four in 5.1 innings while Johnson, a sophomore, gained the save with 3.2 innings of relief. He issued two walks and fanned three against the 3-4 Clippers.

Bentley's trip to Florida continues Wednesday with an 11 am non-conference game against Assumption College.
