Bentley Tops NE10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for 20th Straight Semester

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the 20th consecutive semester, Bentley University had the most selections for the Northeast-10 Conference Academic Honor Roll (formerly known as the Commissioner's Honor Roll) with 381 student-athletes recognized for having a 3.0 or better grade point average during the fall 2018 semester.

In total, 75.3 percent of Bentley's student-athletes were included on the Academic Honor Roll, a percentage that ranked second in the conference. It was the 20th straight semester that Bentley's percentage has been among the conference's top three.

The current method of honoring the NE10's best students has been in place since the spring 2009 semester with the Falcons heading the list each time.

Of Bentley's 381 honorees, 10 achieved perfect 4.0 GPA's during the fall semester and received Academic Excellence recognition. That included four members of the women's soccer team: Marissa Burns, Erica Campbell, Lindsey Connolly and Emily Penta.

The others were Caitlin Corcoran (volleyball), Hannah Fabianski (women's tennis), Logan French (golf), Stephanie Mattson (women's track and field), Amanda Shoemaker (women's swimming) and Frankie Tossona (field hockey).

In addition, a conference-best 174 of the 381 earned a GPA of 3.5 or better during the semester. Those student-athletes received Academic Distinction honors.

Thirteen Falcon teams saw at least 80 percent of their student-athletes qualify for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, with field hockey (25 of 27), women's volleyball (12 of 13) and women's basketball (11 of 12) all over 90 percent.  The others at 80 or better were baseball, men's cross country, golf, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, men's swimming, women's swimming, men's track and field, women's track and field and women's tennis.

Collectively, 60 percent of Northeast-10 student-athletes qualified for the Honor Roll.
