Fehskens Bentley’s Top Finisher in Capital Cross Challenge

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bentley University women's cross country team competed in the Elite Division of the Capital Cross Challenge Saturday at the Haggins Oak Country Club and the team's top finisher was senior Paige Fehskens (Wareham, Mass./Wareham HS).

Fehskens, Bentley's number one finisher in each of the last 14 meets she has competed in, was 253rd overall with a 6,000-meter time of 23:42.8. Right behind her, in 256th with a clocking of 23:47.0, was junior Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./ Mascenic Reg. HS).

The next Falcon who crossed the line was senior Abbie Newman (Hanson, Mass./Whitman-Hanson Reg. HS), who was 289th in 24:28.3.

As a team, Bentley finished 38th of 4 with a team score of 1,223. Colorado School of Mines edge the University of California 89-103 for the team title. Seven of the top ten were Division I institutions, as were 14 of the 40.

Bentley will return home to prepare for the New England Championships at Franklin Park Oct. 12.
