Fehskens Leads Bentley Women in Shacklette Invitational

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Paige Fehskens (Wareham, Mass./Wareham HS) launched her junior year at Bentley University by placing 13th overall in the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm College Saturday morning.

As a team, Bentley was fourth among five teams with a score of 110. Merrimack College captured team honors with a 29, with Southern New Hampshire (54) and Saint Anselm (61) also finishing in front of the Falcons. St. Michael's College trailed the Falcons with a 116.

Fehskens covered the 5,000-meter course in 20:37, missing out on a top-ten finish by 21 seconds.

Freshman Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS), in her collegiate debut for Bentley, was the Falcons' number two finisher and placed 21st in 21:06. Next for coach Kevin Curtin's team were juniors Kaileigh Wimert (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) and Abbie Newman (Hanson/Whitman-Hanson Reg. HS) in 25th and 26th, respectively. Both posted times of 21:19.

Merrimack's Katherine Ferrara captured individual honors with a winning time of 19:26. She reached the finish 16 seconds before runner-up Maura Coakley (SNHU).

Bentley's next race is the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15.
