Bentley Finishes 6th in NE10 Women’s Cross Country Championships; Fehskens Sets Pace for Falcons

WESTFIELD, Mass. – With sophomore Paige Fehskens (Wareham/Wareham HS) the Falcons' top runner for the fifth time in as many meets this season, the Bentley University women's cross country team finished sixth among 15 teams Sunday during the 2017 Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Stanley Park.

Bentley, with 212 points, was sandwiched in between number five American International (165) and number seven Southern New Hampshire in the team standings. Stonehill College edged Assumption College for the team title, 39-41, and the top four also included Merrimack College (157) and Le Moyne College (160).

Competing in a field of 141, Fehskens finished 15th and earned third-team All-Conference honors with a 6,000-meter time of 22:37.55. It was a huge improvement over her rookie season when she was 58th in 24:45.4.

Senior Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) and sophomore Kaileigh Wimert (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) also cracked the top 35 for Bentley. Bartolotta was 29th (23:20.33) and Wimert followed in 35th (23:26.20).

Just missing the top 50 by one place was junior Tina Touri (Watertown/Watertown HS) with a time of 24:01.22.

Individual honors went to Stonehill's Emily Knox, whose time of 21:37.02 gave her a margin of nearly 13 seconds over runner-up Antonia Pagliuca.

The team's next action is Nov. 4 when the Falcons will be in Buffalo, N.Y. for the NCAA Division II East Regionals.
