Bentley Women Finish 8th of 17 in Trevecca Nazarene Showcase; Fehskens Leads Falcons

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With sophomore Paige Fehskens (Wareham, Mass./Wareham HS) the Falcons' top finisher for the third straight race, the Bentley University women's cross country finished eighth of 17 teams in the Trevecca Nazarene Division II Showcase at Percy Warner Park Saturday  morning.

The Falcons, with a score of 217, trailed the seventh-place team, Florida Southern, by only six points.

Fehskens finished 21st among 146 competitors as she completed the 5,000-meter course in 19:35.7. That was her second fastest 5K time of her career.

Senior Courtney Loughnane (Canton, Mass./Canton HS) was the number two finisher for Bentley with her 20:10.3 good for 42nd overall.

Just missing top 50 finishes for Bentley were senior Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./ Holy Trinity HS) and sophomore Kaileigh Wimert (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS). Bartolotta was 52nd in 20:20.1 and Wimert was pone place and about six seconds behind her.

Colorado-Colorado Springs easily captured the team title, winning by 77 over Truman with a score of just 20. They also has the individual champ, Kayla Wooten (18:09.4), and six of the top nine.

The Falcons will have next week off before running in the New Englands at Franklin Park Oct. 7.
