Fehskens, Wimert Help Bentley Win Kirsh Cup

HOPKINTON, N.H. – With sophomores Paige Fehskens (Wareham, Mass./Wareham HS) and Kaileigh Wimert (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) leading the way, the Bentley University women's cross country team finished first among five teams in the Kirsh Cup, hosted by Franklin Pierce University at the State Fairgrounds Saturday morning.

Bentley edged runner-up Southern New Hampshire University by 10 points, 35-45, to claim victory in what was a three-team battle. The host FPU Ravens followed in third, 20 off the Falcons' winning pace.

SNHU's Jill Couto ran to victory with a 5,000-meter time of 22:39.0 with Fehskens reaching the line 13.3 seconds later in second.

Wimert followed in fourth (24:31.1) and was joined in the top ten by senior teammates Courtney Loughnane (Canton, Mass./Canton HS) (6th, 24:38.7) and Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./ Holy Trinity HS) (8th, 24:48.1).

Next Saturday, Bentley will be in Nashville, Tenn. for the Trevecca Division II Showcase.
