Milner Tabbed as NE10 Player of the Week; Lopp and Murphy Also Recognized

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University Falcons captured three of the four weekly Northeast-10 Conference awards for volleyball for the final week of the regular season with senior outside hitter Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/ The Greenhill School) the choice for NE10 Player of the Week.

Senior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) was selected as the conference's Setter of the Week for the fourth time in six weeks and freshman outside hitter Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS) was the choice for Rookie of the Week accolades for the third time in the last five weeks.

In a 2-0 week that secured the Northeast-10 regular season championship for the Falcons, Milner scored 17 points in both matches while hitting .390 and averaging 4.14 kills, 3.43 digs, 0.57 aces and 0.29 blocks. She had 13 kills, 16 digs, three aces and two blocks in a four-setter against New Haven and 16 kills and eight digs in a 3-0 win over Pace. Milner hit .483 against the Setters and .300 against the Chargers.

Lopp totaled 78 assists in seven sets, helping Bentley improve to 23-5. Her per-set averages in the two victories were 11.14 assists, 3.57 digs, 0.71 aces, 0.57 kills and 0.43 blocks. She finished with 41 assists, 12 kills and three aces against New Haven and 37 assists and 13 digs against Pace.

Murphy hit .273 and produced 3.57 kills and 3.71 digs per set. She matched her career-high with 18 digs against New Haven and also had 12 kills. In the sweep of Pace, she provided 12 kills and eight digs.

Bentley will host Southern Connecticut State tonight in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Championships.
