Lopp & Murphy Receive Weekly Honors from Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – After helping the Bentley University Falcons extend their winning streak to 13, senior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) has repeated as the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Week and freshman Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS) has been named the conference's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Lopp averaged 9.38 assists, 3.75 digs, 0.75 kills, 0.50 blocks, 0.38 aces and 1.50 kills as Bentley remained atop the Northeast-10 standings with two four-set conference wins. She had 39 assists and 10 digs against Assumption College and filled the stat sheet with 36 assists, a career-high 20 digs, five kills, three blocks and two aces at Southern Connecticut.

Lopp, who has eight double-doubles, averaged 9.34 assists and is one of the conference's top all-around setters. She has the second most kills and the second most digs among the five players averaging at least nine assists. In addition, with 36, she has the most blocks among the NE10's top 50 in digs.

Murphy hit .310 in the two wins while providing the Falcons with 2.5 kills, 4.25 digs and 2.75 points per set. She had a 12-kill, 18-dig double-double at Southern Connecticut and hit .364 with eight kills and 16 digs against Assumption.

Murphy is averaging 1.99 kills and 2.83 digs during her first collegiate season. Her 12 kills during the Southern match was her second highest total of the season and the 18 digs matched her career-best.

The NE10 Weekly Honor Roll included Bentley senior Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/ The Greenhill School). She hit .233 while averaging three kills, one dig, 0.88 blocks and 3.69 points. She had 12 kills in both four-set victories and also had two aces, three blocks and a .321 hitting percentage against Assumption. Down at Southern Connecticut, she had four blocks.

Bentley, 18-4 overall and 7-0 NE10, will be in New York this weekend for matches at Saint Rose and Le Moyne.
