Krista Campbell eclipsed the 2,000 career assist plateau

Campbell Reaches 2,000 Assists & Leads Bentley Past Saint Rose

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University co-captain and setter Krista Campbell (Newtown, Pa./Council Rocks North HS) celebrated Senior Day by eclipsing the 2,000 career assist milestone and serving a career-high eight aces while leading the Falcons to a 3-1 victory over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center. Scores were 16-25, 25-22, 25-13 and 25-17.

Campbell, the tenth player in program history to reach 2,000, also provided the Falcons with 13 digs.

Behind her serving, the team hit a solid .309 with sophomore Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./ Desert Mountain HS) and senior co-captain Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker HS) leading Bentley in kills with 15 and 10, respectively. Bruno also had her hands on five of the Falcons' ten blocks.

Freshman Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS) also had a strong showing for the Falcons has she made eight kills without an error for a .400 hitting percentage and recorded 11 digs,

Saint Rose, after hitting a superlative .577 in the opening set, was limited to a .098 success rate during the final three sets. The Golden Knights (16-10, 7-5 NE10) were powered by junior Stevie Schweitzer (Tampa, Fla.), who had 18 of her team's 48 kills and a .308 hitting percentage.

Bentley, with the win, improved to 10-16 overall and 6-6 NE10 with the Falcons moving to within one game in the loss column of sixth place. The top eight will qualify for the conference championship tournament.

The Falcons will close out the regular season next weekend with matches at Pace University Friday evening and Adelphi University Saturday afternoon.
