Bentley Sweeps St. Michael’s, 3-0

COLCHESTER, Vt. – A run of ten straight points finished the third set and gave Bentley University a 3-0 victory over St. Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball at the Ross Sports Center Tuesday night. The scores were 25-13, 25-20 and 25-18.

The closing burst, which came after the Falcons fell behind 18-15, included two kills by junior Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker HS) and freshman Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./ St. Charles North HS), along with two aces from junior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS).

Bruno led Bentley (8-14, 4-4 NE10) with nine kills, three blocks and two of her team's 12 aces. The Falcons also received six kills apiece from Parker, classmate Shannon Ngo (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda HS) and sophomore Mallory Burbage (Bow Mar, Colo./Littleton HS).

Ngo also had four aces, Parker matched Bruno's three blocks, senior setter Krista Campbell (Newtown, Pa./Council Rocks North HS) provided 20 assists in the two sets she played, and junior libero Emily Buchanan (Buchanan, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS) had a team-best ten digs.

Junior Allie Statile (Simsbury, Conn.) led St. Michael's (0-14, 0-9 NE10) with ten kills.

After facing the winless Purple Knights, Bentley will travel to Connecticut Friday to take on conference-leading New Haven (7 pm).
