Stonehill Hands Bentley 3-0 Loss

WALTHAM, Mass. – Despite ten kills from sophomore Mallory Burbage (Bow Mar, Colo./ Littleton HS), the Bentley University Falcons were swept in three sets by Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball at the Dana Center Friday evening. The scorers were 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21.

The team's second straight 3-0 loss dropped Bentley to 6-9 overall and 2-2 in the NE10. Stonehill won for the third time in four conference matches and improved to 7-5 overall.

The third set was the most evenly played, with 15 ties and seven lead changes before four straight Skyhawk kills ending the match.

Senior Allyson Hughes (Modesto, Calif.) led Stonehill with ten kills and freshman Abby Remick (Chepachet, R.I.) followed with nine, along with a .312 hitting percentage. Lauren Wilke (Blue Point, N.Y.), also a freshman, provided the assist on 32 of the Skyhawks' 39 kills.

Stonehill outhit the home team, .182-.093, and also had a 6-2 advantage in aces and ten more digs, 45-35.

Bentley will be back at home Saturday afternoon with a 1 pm match against Southern Connecticut State.
