Bentley Volleyball Receives AVCA Team Academic Award for 5th Straight Year

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University women's volleyball team is one of 128 Division II programs from across the country that earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 academic year. It's the fifth straight year that the Falcons have been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Over 970 teams, from all levels of volleyball, received the award this year. It honors collegiate and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the academic year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average.

Thirteen of the 14 players on the 2017 Bentley roster finished the academic year with cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or better, with a half-dozen at 3.5 or better and six others exceeding 3.2.

Coach Joey Pacis' team opens the 2017 season Aug. 25 with a triangular meet at Georgian Court University. The Falcons will also play in tournaments in Daytona Beach, Fla. and Waterbury, Conn. before taking on Bridgeport Sept. 14 in the home opener.
