WALTHAM, Mass. – A standout on both the court and in the classroom, Bentley University sophomore middle blocker Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) has been selected for the 2017 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team for women's volleyball.

Bruno, who was previously voted to the All-NE10 second team, led the conference in hitting with her .357 success rate 24th best nationally in Division II. Among Division II sophomores, only five had a better hitting percentage than Bruno did this past season.

Bruno, who hit .402 in conference matches, also averaged 0.91 blocks, 2.30 kills and 0.25 aces. Her block average was fourth best in the NE10.

In the classroom, Bruno achieved a 3.77 grade point average during her first three semesters while majoring in economics-finance.

Bentley finished the 2017 season with records of 19-10 overall and 10-4 conference.
