ALBANY, N.Y. – Sophomore Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School), coming off her first career 20-kill, 20-dig performance a night earlier, continued her strong play with 18 kills, including six during the clinching fourth set, as Bentley University topped The College of Saint Rose, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball at the Nolan Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

The win gave Bentley a split of its weekend trip to the Empire State and left the Falcons alone in fourth place in the NE10 at 17-9 overall and 8-4 conference. Saint Rose dropped to 12-15 overall and 3-9 NE10.

The first three sets all finished with the same score, 25-18, with Bentley taking the first two and the Golden Knights coming back in the third.

It looked for quite a while during the fourth that the match would go to a fifth set with Saint Rose owning leads of 21-17 and 23-11 late.

However, the Falcons closed with an 11-5 burst to take the set 28-26. Saint Rose was looking at set point at 24-23 but two attack errors put Bentley in front for the first time since 11-10, 25-24. The two teams traded points and the Golden Knights tied the set for the 12th time, 26-26, on a service error.

Bentley regained the lead on a kill from sophomore Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Frances Parker School) and closed out the match on an ace served by senior Shannon Kelly (Hyde Park, N.Y./ Franklin D. Roosevelt HS).

Milner, who hit .213 on her way to 18 kills and her 14th double-double, also had 14 digs, second to the 22 made by senior libero Celia Cristofoli (Fort Collins, Colo./Hudson (Ohio) HS). Kelly also had a double-double, finishing with 10 kills and 13 digs, and Bruno hit .471 with eight kills in 17 swings.

Bentley totaled 10 aces with four by Bruno and three apiece from Kelly and senior Isabella Perez (Lafayette, Calif./Carondelet HS),

The Falcons will close out the regular season by hosting Pace Friday night and Adelphi Saturday afternoon.
