Bentley Sweeps Past St. Michael’s for 4th Straight Victory

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore right side Caitlin Corcoran (Trappe, Pa./Perkiomen Valley HS) hit .571 with eight kills and no errors, and five other Falcons made at least five kills, as Bentley University stretched its win streak to four with a 3-0 sweep of St. Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Friday night at the Dana Center. The scores were 25-8, 25-16 and 25-15.

Bentley (9-4, 2-0 NE10) set the tone for the match in the opening set when the Falcons built leads of 4-0, 9-1 and 13-3 before scoring the final eight points. Sophomore outside hitter Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/ The Greenhill School) put down five kills in the only set she played and junior setter Krista Campbell (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North HS) provided the assist on each of the Falcons' 10 kills in the opening set.

Campbell finished with 18 assists and nine digs while playing the first two sets. Senior outside hitter Shannon Kelly (Hyde Park, N.Y./Francis D. Roosevelt HS) accounted for three of Bentley's nine service aces, and classmate McKenna Buck (Renton, Wash./Holy Names Acad.) hit .455 with six kills and just one error.

Bentley hit .326 as a team while limiting St. Michael's (0-6, 0-1 NE10) to just .011 with 22 kills and 21 errors.

Before the game, a banner was unveiled commemorating the induction into the AVCA Hall of Fame of the late and legendary Sandy Hoffman, Bentley's head coach from 1982-2914.

After playing three matches in four days, the Falcons will have three days off before facing Saint Anselm on the road Tuesday evening.
