Segaline Repeats as Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman outside hitter Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS) made it two NE10 Rookie of the Week Awards in as many weeks when she was recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference on Tuesday.

During the Saint Anselm Invitational over the weekend, Segaline averaged 3.07 kills (43 total), 2.50 digs (35 total) and 3.61 points (50.5 total) while helping the Falcons to a 2-2 record. Her weekend included a career-best 17 kills and 11 assists against Assumption, and 14 kills, seven digs and three blocks against Saint Anselm. She also had five aces during the tournament.     

Two weeks into her college career, Segaline is one of only four players in the 15-team conference averaging at least 2.9 kills and 2.8 digs, a distinction she shares with her teammate, sophomore Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School). Her season marks current stand at 2.93 kills and 2.89 digs.

Milner was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll, as well as the All-Tournament Team, after totaling 38 kills (2.71 average) digs and 58 (4.14) in four matches.  She hit .270 and posted three double-doubles with 10 kills and 18 digs against Edinboro, 14 and 14 against Assumption and 10 and 21 against Saint Anselm. Milner also had two aces and three blocks in the Edinboro match.

Milner, for the season, is averaging 2.92 kills and 3.60 digs so far this season.

Bentley, 5-3, will play in a triangular Saturday on Long Island at Molloy College, along with Georgian Court University.
