Bruno Gains Academic All-Northeast-10 Honors in Volleyball

A standout on both the court and in the classroom, Bentley University sophomore middle blocker Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) has been selected for the 2017 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team for women’s volleyball.
Bentley Tops NCAA Academic Success Rate Report, Receives President’s Award for Academic Excellence

Bentley University is tied for number one nationally in the latest NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate report. Of the three institutions who shared the top spot with a 98 percent ASR, Bentley is the only one that has a football program. In recognition of having a four-year ASR of 90 or better, Bentley received a “Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence” from the NCAA.

Bentley University sophomore right side hitter Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/ The Greenhill School) was voted to the 2017 Northeast-10 All-Conference women’s volleyball first team while her classmate, middle blocker Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Frances Parker School), was selected for the All-Conference second team.

Following match-point for third-seeded Bentley University, number six Saint Anselm College ran off three unanswered points to take the fifth set, 17-15, and oust the higher-seeded Falcons from the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Volleyball Championships with a 3-2 quarterfinal victory Tuesday night at the Dana Center.

AIC Turns Tables on Bentley, Bests Falcons in Five

A month ago, the Bentley University women’s volleyball team outlasted visiting American International College in five sets with that match considered non-conference. Saturday night, the two teams met again and once again they went five with the home team prevailing. However, this time it was American International that pulled out the victory with this one breaking a tie between the two clubs in the conference standings.

The scores were 25-23, 25-23 and 25-18.

Bentley University’s chance to take over first place in the Northeast-10 Conference and the team’s five-game winning streak both went by the boards as the Falcons were swept by streaking University of New Haven in women’s college volleyball action at the Dana Center Thursday evening. All three sets were decided by identical 25-21 scores.
