Milner & Rotkin Lead Bentley to 6th Straight Win, 3-0 over Southern Connecticut

                WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School) had 18 kills and 23 digs, both career-highs, and senior setter Allie Rotkin (Cumming, Ga./Milton HS) provided 41 assists as Bentley University extended its winning streak to six with a 3-0 sweep of Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Saturday at the Dana Center.

The 25-18, 25-11, 25-19 victory kept the Falcons undefeated in conference play (5-0) and boosted Bentley to 8-11 overall, including 8-4 against regional opponents. Southern Connecticut dropped to 13-9 overall and 3-3 NE-10.

Eighteen of Rotkin's assists came in the opening set when the Falcons hit .275. Freshman Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Frances Parker HS)  was on the receiving end of six of those, and Milner followed with four kills in the set.

Bentley never trailed in a second set that was tied four times early and ended with a 11-1 run. Milner had five kills, seven digs and a pair of aces to lead the Falcons.

The Falcons closed out the match with a 10-2 run, including four of Milner's nine kills in the set.  She was outstanding in the third, hitting .529 and also collecting six digs and an ace.

Milner, in addition to achieving career-highs in kills and digs, hit .429 and served three aces. Bruno followed in kills, making nine while swinging at a .533 success rate, and junior libero Celia Cristofoli (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson HS) made 18 digs.

Southern was limited to a .050 hitting percentage despite a solid performance from sophomore Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.). She accounted for 13 of the Owls' 25 kills and hit .231.

Next up for the Falcons is a Tuesday night match at Southern New Hampshire (7 pm).
