Bentley Volleyball Receives AVCA Team Academic Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University women's volleyball team is one of a record 113 Division II programs from across the country to earn an AVCA Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association for the 2014-15 season. It's the second straight year that the Falcons have been recognized.

A record total of 752 teams, from all levels of volleyball, received the award this year. It honors collegiate and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the academic year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average.

Last fall, in Joey Pacis' first season as head coach, Bentley earned a share of the Northeast-10 Conference regular season championship and reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division II East Regional.

Bentley will open the 2015 season with a seven-team home tournament Sept. 4-5. Also competing in the tournament will be Chestnut Hill, Florida Southern, LIU Post, Minnesota-Crookston and New Haven.
