Seniors Help Bentley Extend Win Streak to Five, 3-1 over AIC

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seniors Savannah Dominguez (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity School) and Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/Newton North HS) each had a dozen kills, and senior Alex Tator (Los Angeles, Calif./Marlborough School) delivered 41 assists, as Bentley University stretched its winning streak to five with a 3-1 win over American International College in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Thursday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley, 10-2 against East Region competition, improved to 11-7 overall and moved into sole possession of fourth place in the conference at 6-2. After AIC rallied to take the opening set 26-24, the Falcons ran off eight straight points to take the second and went on to prevail 25-13, 25-20 and 25-14.

That strong start to the second, all with senior Lauren Colasanti (Northville, Mich./ Northville HS) serving, included three aces by the Falcon libero, two kills by Froehlich and a kill and a block from Dominguez.

Colasanti was also the primary server as the Falcons closed out the match with a 10-1 spurt after the Yellow Jackets (5-17, 1-7 NE-10) had closed to within two, 15-13. She served seven straight balls during a run that included her fourth ace of the night.

Bentley's 50 kills also included nine from junior Jaci Buscher (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain HS) and eight, with a .462 hitting percentage, from senior Kaleigh Sullivan (Naples, Fla./Harley School, N.Y.).

Tator's 41 assists gave her 2,554 for her career, moving the three-year captain past Kari Norberg and Kristin Johnson into seventh on Bentley's all-time list.

Colansanti, in addition to the four aces, had 20 digs.

Sophomore Andrea Dillon (Vermillion, Ohio) led AIC with 11 kills and classmate Lauren Pires (Dartmouth) followed with nine, without an error.

Bentley will be back in action Saturday when it begins a six-match road trip at conference-leading New Haven (1 pm).
