Tator Leads Bentley to 3-1 Win at St. Michael’s

COLCHESTER, Vt. – Senior setter Alex Tator (Los Angeles, Calif./Marlborough School) amassed 47 assists, including 17 in the opening set, and also filled the stat sheet with four service aces, five kills and a .714 hitting percentage, as Bentley University recorded a 3-1 victory over Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Saturday afternoon at the Ross Sports Center. Scores were 25-23, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-13.

Bentley evened both its overall and conference records at .500, improving to 7-7 and 2-2 NE-10. St. Michael's, winless in four conference matches, fell to 5-6 overall.

As a large result of Tator's distribution of the ball, three Falcons reached double figures in kills, including junior Jaci Buscher (Lakewood, Colo./Rocky Mountain HS) who had her third double-double of the season. Senior Tatiana Froehlich (Newton, Mass./Newton North HS) led Bentley with 13 kills, Buscher followed with 12 and 13 digs, and senior Kaleigh Sullivan (Naples, Fla./Harley School) posted 11, along with four blocks.

Bentley's 12 aces was a season-high and included three apiece by Buscher and junior Jessica Segal (West Harrison, N.Y./Harrison HS).

Defensively, Segal had a team-best 17 digs, senior Lauren Colasanti (Northville, Mich./ Northville HS) followed with 16 and senior Savannah Dominguez (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity HS) was involved with six blocks.

Both teams had a Colasanti playing for them as Lauren's sister Julia is a freshman at St. Michael's. She finished with 15 digs, one less than her sister.

Bentley will be back at home Tuesday for a 7 pm match against Merrimack College.
