Mattson Collects 4th Academic All-Northeast-10 Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the fourth time in her record-breaking career, Bentley University rising senior Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS) has garnered Academic All-Northeast-10 honors. The latest came earlier this week when she was voted to the Academic All-Conference women's outdoor track and field team.

This marks the second straight year that Mattson has received the honor in outdoor track. In addition, she was previously selected for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 Academic All-NE10 indoor track teams.

Mattson finished her junior year with her name attached to 13 school records. Three of those came during the outdoor season when she twice improved on the record in the 200 meters (25.58 in San Diego, 25.43 during the Northeast-10 Championships) and the long jump (18'8.5" and 18'11.5" at the same two meets). She also helped rewrite the record book with a time of 49.56 seconds in the 4x100 relay.

A Google Cloud Academic All-District honoree, Mattson earned All-East honors in both the long jump and the 400, and also gained All-New England recognition in the long jump. At the conference championships, she was second in the 400, fifth in the long jump and sixth in the 200.

Coming off her third straight 4.0 semester, Mattson has achieved a sensational 3.97 grade point average while majoring in both actuarial science and business studies.
