WALTHAM, Mass. – Four members of the Bentley University outdoor track and field teams, including senior All-America Holt Sihvonen (Lebanon, Conn./Lyman Memorial HS) and record-setting junior Steph Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS), received  Division II All-East Region recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their performance this spring.

Sihvonen, who'll be competing in the NCAA Division II Championships May 27 in Charlotte, N.C., was honored for the javelin for the fourth straight year. Mattson pushed her collection of All-Region citations to six as she repeated in both the 400 meters and the long jump.

In addition to the above two, senior Seamus Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) and junior Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) were recognized with their efforts in the 5,000 and 10,000, respectively. It was Higgins' first All-Region award while Murphy was previously recognized for cross country in 2016 and 2018.

The top five individuals in each event earned All-Region distinction from the USTFCCCA.

Sihvonen, the 2017 Northeast-10 Men's Field Athlete of the Year, captured the NE10 championship for the second time in three years and received All-New England honors with a fifth-place finish. He had a season-best throw of 205'8" at the Bryant Black and Gold Invitational.

Mattson, owner of a total of 13 school records between the indoor and outdoor seasons, earned outdoor All-New England honors in the long jump a week after placing second in the 400, fifth in the long jump and sixth in the 200 at the NE10 Championships. She's also been an indoor All-Region honoree in the long jump each of the last two seasons.

Higgins ran a season-best 14:53.22 in the 5000 at the New Englands, earning All-New England honors with a seventh-place finish, and Murphy achieved a 32:04.57 in the 10,000 at the same meet.
