WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS) has been named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference for the first time in her career and Falcon senior javelin thrower Holt Sihvonen (Lebanon, Conn./Lyman Memorial HS) was selected as the NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, and the eighth time in his career.

Both were recognized for their performance last Saturday in the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT.

Mattson finished first among 33 competitors in the 400 meters with her time of 56.74 the best achieved in the Northeast-10 this season. Earlier this spring, she set school records in both the 200 (25.58) and the high jump (18'8.5").

Sihvonen, the 2017 NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Year, finished first in the javelin, posting a throw of 201 feet, 6.5 inches. It was his third 200-yard distance of the year and second victory of the season.

The Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll included Bentley sophomore Josh Gettings (Lowell/Lowell HS). He finished first among 20 student-athletes in the 400 hurdles with his 55.41 time the fourth best achieved by an NE10 performer this season. He also helped Bentley finish first in the 4x400 relay in 3:28.02.

This Saturday, Bentley will be at Stonehill College for the Skyhawk Invitational.
