Fehskens Named Northeast-10 Women’s Track Rookie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman Paige Fehskens (Wareham/Wareham HS) has been named the Women's Track Rookie of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference following her outstanding performance in the UMass-Boston Invitational Saturday.

In her collegiate indoor debut, Fehskens finished 1st of 13 in the 3,000 meters with her time of 10:51.98 ranking first in the NE10 over the weekend.

During the cross country season, Fehskens was one of Bentley's top two finishers in four of the five races she participated in. Included was a 29th-place showing at the NCAA Division II East Regional.

Two Bentley student-athletes, senior Tim Bolick (Hopkinton/Hopkinton HS) and sophomore Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS), were also recognized for their performance at UMass-Boston with selection to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Bolick finished first among 45 runners in the mile at the UMass-Boston Invitational with his time of 4:21.49 a PR by 3.63 seconds and the best in the conference during the opening weekend.

Mattson launched her sophomore season with a trio of second-place finishes: 1:21.02 in the 500 meters, 17'2.25" in the long jump and 35'0.5" in the triple jump. Her 500 time set a PR by 0.89 seconds and she also was part of Falcons' 4x400 relay that finished fifth (4:25.09). On the NE10 performance list for the weekend, she was first in the 500, fourth in the long jump and eighth in the triple jump.

After an exam and holiday break, Bentley will be back in action Jan. 14 with the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis.
