WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./ Smithfield HS) has been chosen as the Field Rookie of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference following her performance in Saturday's Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational.

It's the second time during the outdoor season that Mattson has been recognized. She was also cited twice during the indoor season.

In Saturday's meet, Mattson finished first among 18 competitors in the long jump with a winning distance of 17'1.5". She was also fifth of ten in the triple jump (33'1.75"), set a PR in the 200 (27.10) and was part of the Falcons' 4x100 relay that posted a season-best time (52.18).

During the outdoor season, Mattson has cracked Bentley's all-time top 15 in four events (200, 400, long jump, triple jump). She ranks third in program history in the long jump (17'5.25") and fourth in the triple jump (34'7.75").

This weekend, Mattson and her teammates will be at American International for the Northeast-10 Championships. On the season's NE-10 performance list, she ranks fifth in the long jump, 11th in the triple jump and 13th in the 400.
