Mattson Turns In Strong Performance at Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. – Bentley University freshman Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./ Smithfield HS) continued her strong rookie season Saturday while competing for the Falcons' women's indoor track and field team in the Dartmouth Invitational at the Leverone Field House.

Mattson finished third among 17 runners in the 500 meters, trailing only Marissa Evans of Dartmouth and Kaitlin Saulter of Maine with a time of 1:21.24. That elevated her to 12th on Bentley's all-time list in the event.

Mattson was also fifth of 23 in the long jump (16'7.25") and a member of the Falcons' 4x400 relay team that put up a time of 4:43.07.

Sophomore Courtney Wilson (Morrisonville, N.Y./Beekmantown Central HS) was seventh of 12th in the triple jump (33'0.5"), and classmate Sydney Kito (Aquebogue, N.Y./Riverhead HS) achieved a new personal best in the 400 (1:05.46).

Also setting a new PR was senior Anna Pickett (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland HS) with a 3:17.50 in the 1,000. That was also good for 20th on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list for the season.

On Friday night, Bentley will compete in the David Hemery Valentine's Invitational at Boston University.
