Bentley Women Compete in John Thomas Terrier Classic at BU

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Julia Morena (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS), sophomore Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) and freshman Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS) were among the members of the Bentley University women's indoor track and field team who set new personal bests during the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University Friday night.

Morena ran the 3,000 meters in 10:42.55, the tenth best recorded in the Northeast-10 Conference this season and good for 15th on Bentley's all-time list. It bettered her existing PR by about 45 seconds.

Mattson ran the eighth fastest 400 meters in Falcon history, finishing in 60.59 seconds, a PR by 0.82 seconds. It put her 15th on the season's NE-10 performance list. She also finished 29th of 48 in the triple jump with her distance of 34 feet, 9 inches a half-foot shy of her season best.

Bartolotta achieved the season's eighth fastest 1000 meter time in the NE-10 with a 3:11.38, a PR by about five seconds.

Sophomore Courtney Wilson (Morrisonville, N.Y./Beekmantown Central HS) improved on her PR by three-quarters of an inch in the triple jump. Her 33'10" was tied for seventh on Bentley's all-time list and 11th best in the conference to date. Wilson also cleared 15'2.25" in the long jump.

Courtney Loughnane (Canton/Canton HS), also a sophomore, had the best time of the six Falcons who ran the mile, finishing in 5:36.37.

Next Saturday, Bentley will be up in New Hampshire for the Dartmouth Invitational.
