Albanese & Men’s 4x800 Lead Bentley During Final Day of New Englands

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A school record by junior Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield/Lynnfield HS) and a seventh-place finish by the men's 4x800 relay team were among the top performances for the Bentley University track and field team as the 2015 New England Championships concluded Saturday at MIT's Steinbrenner Stadium.

Albanese improved on her own school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase by 4.40 seconds as she posted a time of 11:39.23, good for a 21st-place finish. Her previous best was achieved at the 2014 Northeast-10 Championships.

In the 4x800, the Falcons placed seventh overall with the time of 7:40.73 a season-best and second best in program history. Sophomore Tim Bolick (Hopkinton/Hopkinton HS) led off and was followed by senior Christian Connolly (Kingston/Silver Lake Regional HS), freshman Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) and sophomore Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS).

In the women's shot, senior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) closed out her career with a season-best throw of 38'9.75". She was 13th overall and fourth among Division II competitors.

Senior John Chiulli (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook HS) and sophomore Beau Kraft (Bayport, N.Y./ Bayport-Blue Point HS) represented Bentley in the discus with Chiulli 15th in 134'3" and Kraft 18th in 129'2".

While the women's team did not score in the meet, the Falcon men amassed 7 points to tie for 32nd place. A total of 37 teams scored in the men's championships.
