Froehlich & Brennan Lead Bentley Women at Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational

EASTON, Mass. – A school record by senior Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/Newton HS) and a fifth-place finish by junior Sarah Brennan (Quincy/Notre Dame Academy) topped the list of performances for the Bentley University women's track and field team Friday night during Stonehill College's Skyhawk Invitational at W.B. Mason Stadium.

Froehlich broke her own school record in the hammer for the third time this spring with her throw of 125'2" bettering the 123'4" she set two weeks ago at Connecticut College by nearly two feet. She was ninth of 14 in the meet with five of the eight in front of her from Division I institutions. In addition to breaking the record, it elevated her to ninth on the Northeast-10 performance list.

Brennan moved to number five on Bentley's all-time list in the 3,000 meters with her 10:27.04 putting her fifth of 20 in the event and first among non-Division I runners. The Falcons had four of the top ten with sophomore Julia Morena (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS) seventh in 10:55.04, classmate Katie Burke (Braintree/Braintree HS) eighth (10:56.81, a personal best by 23.73 seconds) and junior Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield/Lynnfield HS) tenth (11:04.32, a PR by 25.90 seconds).

Bentley had a pair of sixth-place performances in the field events, senior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) in the shot (37'6.75") and classmate Jacqueline Carlson (Kensington, Conn./Berlin HS) in the javelin (107'11").

The Falcons totaled 16 points to finish last in the nine-team meet that was dominated by Division I programs. The University of Rhode Island bested Boston College for first place, 183-162.

This coming weekend, Bentley will be at Southern Connecticut State for the Northeast-10 Conference championships.
