Dooley Earns All-Region Honors from USTFCCCA

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Tara Dooley (Lee/Lee HS) received a pair of Division II All-East Region awards from the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for her performance during the 2014-15 indoor season.

Lee, previously a two-time All-Region pick in cross country, was recognized in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters.

The top five individuals in each event from each of the eight regions earned the All-Region distinction from the USTFCCCA.

Dooley, who plans to return next winter for her final year of eligibility, posted the East's second-best 5,000-time, a 17:15.61, as well as the fifth-best 3,000, 10:12.97. Her 5,000 time, achieved this past Friday during the New Englands at Boston University, broke the school record by about five seconds and provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division II championships. She placed fifth overall to earn her third career All-New England award.

Dooley's season-best performance in the 3,000 also came at BU and was the sixth best in program history.

Bentley's outdoor season is scheduled to open Mar. 21 with the Bridgewater State Open.
