Farrington Takes 3rd in NE-10 Shot Put with School Record-Setting Performance

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) was the top finisher for the Bentley University women's indoor track and field team during Saturday's Northeast-10 Conference Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center as she took third in the shot put with the longest throw in program history.

Farrington uncorked a throw of 39 feet, six inches to finish behind only Destiney Coward of Southern Connecticut State (43'9.75") and Gwendelyn Sawyer of Assumption College (40'10.5"). That bettered her previous best by nearly a foot-and-a-half and exceeded the school record, owned by Cherise Quimby since 2002, by four-and-a-quarter inches.

Bentley also received strong efforts from sophomore Katie Burke (Braintree/Braintree HS) and freshman Courtney Wilson (Morrisonville, N.Y./Beekmantown Central HS), each of whom turned in a fifth-place finish.

Burke was fifth in the 3,000 meters with her time of 10:58.24 a new personal best by 11.67 seconds. Wilson bettered her own PR in the long jump by more than a foot by clearing 16'4.5", a performance that elevated her to fourth on Bentley's all-time list. In addition to fifth in the long jump, she matched her PR in the triple jump (33'0.25"), tying for 15th in the championships.

Sophomore Danielle Coskren (North Andover/North Andover HS) was sixth in the mile, bettering her PR by 1.09 seconds with a 5:33.72. Also in the mile, freshmen Caroline Conrad (Bedford, N.H./Bedford HS) and Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) were eighth and ninth, respectively. Conrad's 5:38.15 was a personal best and Bartolotta finished in 5:45.74.

Coskren also anchored Bentley's distance medley relay team that finished seventh in 13:28.43, a time that ranks ninth on the program's all-time list. That quartet also included junior Dusty Sacco (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes HS) and seniors Brittany Baudier (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd HS).

Conrad, Baudier, Bartolotta and senior Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./Arlington HS) helped Bentley to eighth in the 4x800 with a time of 10:29.23.

As a team, Bentley was ninth among 11 teams with 18 points. Stonehill College edged Southern Connecticut for the team championship, 160.5-156.

Next weekend, Bentley will compete in the New England Championships at Boston University.
