Bentley Women Resume Indoor Schedule with GBTC Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – After a seven-week break in the schedule, the Bentley University women's indoor track and field team returned to action Sunday with the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational at Harvard University's Gordon Track.

Bentley had a pair of third-place finishes in the meet, senior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) in the shot put and the 4x400 yard relay team of Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./Arlington HS), Brittany Baudier (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd HS), Dusty Sacco (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes HS) and Anna Pickett (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland HS). Those four finished in order in the 800 meters with Pettinella sixth of 15 (2:35.49), Pickett seventh (2:36.39), Sacco eighth (2:37.18) and Baudier ninth (2:37.34).

Farrington was third of 19 with a throw of 36'9.75". The relay was third in a field of six with the time of 4:37.38 the ninth best recorded in the Northeast-10 Conference this far this season.

In the 60 meter hurdles, both junior Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford/New Bedford HS) and senior Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/Newton North HS) qualified for the finals. Leahy was sixth overall in 10.63 seconds and Froehlich followed in seventh with a 10.91.

Senior Tara Dooley (Lee/Lee HS) and sophomore Katie Burke (Braintree/Braintree HS) competed in the invitational sections of the mile and 3000, respectively, the only collegians in the fields. Dooley was seven of ninth in the mile with her time of 5:16.74 sixth best on the season's NE-10 performance list. Burke completed the 3000 in 11:19.63 to place ninth of 11.

In the open mile, sophomore Danielle Coskren (North Andover/North Andover HS) was 12th of 44 with her 5:38.53 a personal best by about a half-second. Freshman Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) was two places behind in 5:48.02.

On Friday, Bentley will compete in the John Thomas Terrier Invitational at Boston University. In addition, the Falcons will also be represented in the indoor pentathlon at the Tufts Stampede on Friday and Saturday.
