WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University Falcons will be at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston Saturday afternoon and evening for the 13th annual Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track Championships. Action is scheduled to get underway at 4 pm.

Thirteen Bentley athletes are seeded in the top eight in at least one event, a list headed by All-America grad student Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) and sophomore Edy-Elliot Uthman-Olukokun (West Warwick, R.I./West Warwick HS).

Varsell, a five-time Northeast-10 champion including the 800 meters in both 2011 and 2012, sits at the top of the entry list in both the mile and 1,000 meters. Her entry time of 4:53.39 in the mile is about four seconds faster than the meet record and her 2:57.75 in the 1000 is only about a half-second off the meet record set by former teammate Caitlin Fahey a year ago.

Uthman-Olukokun is third on the entry list in the 200 meters (22.37) as well as sixth in the long jump (22'2.5") and seventh in the 60 (7.12). Last year, he finished fourth in both of the latter two events.

Senior Ashley Nichols (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor HS) was fifth in the 5,000 last year and is number two on this year's performance list at just a shade under 18 minutes.

Sophomore Sarah Brennan (Quincy/Notre Dame Acad.) is fourth in the 3,000 with a 10:39.33, and freshman Tim Bolick (Hopkinton/Hopkinton HS) comes in at number five in the 1,000 at 2:32.16. In the women's shot, junior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) is sixth in the shot (36'6.75"), an event in which she placed fifth last year.

Seeded seventh are freshman Danielle Coskren (North Andover/North Andover HS) in the 800, classmate  Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) in the mile and juniors Steve Maffiolini (Southington, Conn./Southington HS) (400) and Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./Arlington HS) (1000). Freshman Eric Beckwith (North Attleboro/North Attleboro HS) and sophomore Anthony Lacey (Ogdensburg, N.J./Pope John XXIII HS) are eighth on the entry list in the shot and mile, respectively, and sophomore Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield/Lynnfield HS) is eighth in the women's mile.

A pre-meet poll of conference coaches forecasts a seventh-place finish for the Bentley men and a fifth for the Falcon women. That's a flip-flop of last year's results that saw the men's team place fifth and the women's seventh.
