Farley Places 5th in 10K at New Englands; Pratt Moves to #2 on Bentley’s All-Time List

EASTON, Mass. – In his final race as a collegian, Bentley University senior Teddy Farley (Acton/ Acton-Boxborough Reg. HS) earned a fifth place finish in the 10,000 meters during the first full day of the 2013 New England Outdoor Track Championships Friday afternoon at Stonehill College's W.B. Mason Stadium.

Competing in a field of 17, Farley posted a time of 32:18.15, ranking third best among Division II athletes.

The Falcons' top finisher on the women's side also came in the 10,000, with junior Ashley Nichols (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor HS) ninth of 23 overall, and third among Division II runners. She finished in 39:39.16.

Bentley's only PR achieved Friday was posted by freshman Kendal Pratt (Topsfield/ Masconomet Reg. HS) in the 400 meters. She was seventh among Division II competitors and 22nd overall, but her time of 58.23 seconds vaulted her to number two on Bentley's all-time list. It improved on her previous best by 1.28 seconds.

Other top 12 finishes for the Bentley men were registered by sophomore Anthony Charter (Hubbardston/Quabbin Reg. HS) and junior Eric Kennedy (West Hartford, Conn./Northwest Catholic HS). Charter was 11th overall and third among Division II competitors in the long jump (20'5.25") and Kennedy was 12th (5th Division II) in the 200 meters, finishing in 22.38 seconds.

Also competing for Bentley Friday were seniors Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/ Scarborough HS), John Drago (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) and Bryan Carton (Norwell/Norwell HS). Robinson and Drago finished virtually together in the 5,000, placing 18th and 19th respectively. Robinson crossed the line in 15:22.50 and Drago was a hundredth-of-a-second behind him. Carton was 19th in the 400 with a time of 49.62.

The New Englands will conclude on Saturday.
