DURHAM, N.H. – A week after moving to number two on Bentley University's all-time list in the 800 meters, senior Caitlin Fahey (Bridgewater, Mass./Coyle-Cassidy HS) was even better Saturday while competing with the rest of the Falcon women's outdoor track team in the University of New Hampshire Wildcat Invitational.

Fahey captured the 800 meters in 2:11.28, an improvement of 1.33 seconds from her winning performance at last Saturday's George Davis Invitational at UMass-Lowell, and the sixth fastest time by a Division II woman nationally in the 800 thus far during the outdoor season. She achieved the impressive time with a winning margin of 1.50 seconds over UNH's Anne Twombly.

Fahey was also part of Bentley's 4x400 relay team that placed fourth in 4:17.03. That foursome also included sophomore Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./Arlington HS), freshman Dusty Rose Sacco (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes HS) and junior Taren Kershaw (Revere, Mass./Revere HS).

Senior All-America Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) had her best day of the outdoor season, qualifying for the New Englands in the 1500 with a third-place finish (4:38.60) and placing fourth in the 800 (2:21.37).

Earning a spot on Bentley's all-time list were sophomore Melanie Lilly (Lawrence, Mass./ Lawrence HS), freshman Kendal Pratt (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Reg. HS), senior Melissa Kimball (Weymouth, Mass./Weymouth HS) and freshman Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford HS).

Lilly was seventh in the 100 with her time of 13.18 seconds a personal best by 0.40 seconds and seventh best ever by a Falcon. She also placed eighth in the 200, her 27.07 a new PR by 0.56 seconds. En route to a third-place finish in the 400, Kimball improved on her PR by 1.21 seconds and moved to ninth in school history with a 1:00.41. Pratt's 26.95 in the 200 was good for seventh in the meet and tenth all-time at Bentley, bettering her previous best by 0.87 seconds. Leahy finished fifth in the 100 hurdles with her 16.69 putting her at number four in program annals.

Freshman Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield HS) took third in the steeplechase (13:19.48) and Bentley had a pair of fourths in field events, senior Keisha Johnson (Randolph, Mass./Randolph HS) in the long jump (16'1.75") and sophomore Brynnan Farrington (Shirley, Mass./ Ayer HS) in the shot put (37'1").

Sophomore Jacqueline Carlson (Kensington, Conn./Berlin HS) took eighth in the javelin (99'0") and classmate Tatiana Froehlich (Newton, Mass./Newton North HS) threw the hammer 95 feet, nine inches, only 14 inches shy of the school record.

Bentley totaled 58 points in the seven-team meet, trailing New Hampshire (271.5), Maine (156) and Bowdoin (115.5) in the final standings.

Next weekend, Bentley will be in action at both the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton and the MIT Invitational.
