Fahey among Top Performers for Bentley Women’s Track in BU Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Caitlin Fahey (Bridgewater/Coyle-Cassidy HS) had one of the top performances for a member of the Bentley University women's indoor track team during Friday night's Boston University Terrier Classic.

Fahey, who owns the school record in the mile (4:58.63), posted a season-best time of 5:06.77 in the event to finish 33rd among 124 runners. It was the third best mile time recorded by a Division II athlete in the meet, and also put her at number three on this year's Northeast-10 performance list.

Another Falcon who earned a spot on the NE-10 performance list was junior Ashley Nichols (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor HS). She ran the 3,000 in a season-best 10:39.36, seventh best in the NE-10 this year, to finish 52nd in the event and third among Division II entrants.

Bentley athletes set a number of new personal bests during the course of the meet, with five of those coming in the 200 meters. Topping that group was senior Andrea Crowley (Bourne/Bourne HS), who posted a time of 27.40 seconds, tying her for ninth in program history in the event. Crowley also had the meet's fifth best time for a Division II competitor in the 60, 8.45 seconds.

Freshman Kendal Pratt (Topsfield/Masconomet Reg. HS) also had a solid effort in the 200, winning her heat in a PR of 27.63. In the 1,000, sophomore Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./Arlington HS) established a new personal best and was third among Division II runners with a 3:13.29. Classmate Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) also had the third best shot put effort by a Division II athlete, 35 feet, four inches.

Next Saturday, Bentley will compete in the Dartmouth Winter Classic.
